Morning Glory: Ipomea Violacea, Oliliuqui.

Morning Glory is a climbing plant with small, heart-shaped leaves and cup-shaped leaves ranging from white through light blue to purple. It grows in North America and Mexico. The dark brown-purple-black seeds are about 2 millimetres long and have a slightly curved, almond-like shape. The Indians regard the seed as a kind of oracle. Healers, who have often dedicated their lives to this plant, use the seed during many healing rites whereby the patient is isolated, allowing them to undergo the experience of Oliliuqi-visions and receive solutions for their questions or complaints.

• Active elements: The hallucinogenic substances are found in the husks of the seeds. This substance is also known as Lysergic Acid, LSA or LS111.
• Effect: Morning Glory seeds contain substances which greatly resemble the powerful hallucinatory LSD, but instead of a wild 'trip', it has a more restful, dreamy effect. You become relaxed and your perception changes slightly. The effect is a feeling of mental 'emptiness' and an unreal look at the world. You become more sensitive to sounds and what you see things (literally) in a different light.
• Use: It is advisable to start with a small amount. The effective dosage varies according to the individual and the situation. For a mild effect, soak 10 to 30 seeds for about an hour in a little warm water (on a hotplate), strain and drink the resulting liquid. For a stronger effect, first grind 10 to 15 seeds and then drink the liquid without straining it.
• Side Effects : The most common are light nausea and pain or a swollen feeling in the stomach, mostly in the first hour after taking. To prevent this, add sugar to the liquid. Or take a Norit tablet.
